Ultimate guide to measuring ring sizes
Measuring ring sizes

Welcome to Daily Dazzle’s Ultimate Guide to Finding Your Perfect Jewelry Fit!

We get it—nothing’s more disappointing than ordering a stunning ring online, only to discover it’s too snug to slide on or so loose it might slip away. But don’t worry, we’ve got you covered! In this fun, easy-to-follow guide, we’re here to take the mystery out of ring sizing and help you find your flawless fit—so your jewelry feels just as good as it looks.

Why Ring Size Really Matters

Let’s face it: a beautiful ring should make you feel amazing—not uncomfortable. Too tight, and it’s a finger squeeze you didn’t ask for. Too loose, and you’re constantly checking to make sure it’s still there. The right fit ensures both comfort and peace of mind, letting you shine confidently without a care.

Ready to measure like a pro? Let’s dive in and make sure your next ring is a perfect match for you.

First method: Start by grabbing a piece of string, a thin strip of paper, or even a phone charger cord (yes, we’re serious!). Gently wrap it around the finger you plan to dazzle—make sure it feels snug but not tight. Mark the point where the ends meet, then lay it flat and measure the length in centimeters using a ruler. That’s your finger’s circumference!

Pro tip: A ring should glide over your knuckle with slight resistance—not feel like it’s auditioning for a wrestling match. If it pops on with ease but stays secure, you’ve nailed it!

Alternatively, you can download the .pdf file below, print it at scaling of 100% on an A4 paper, without borders. Instructions to measure is included in the PDF file. This printable sheet will provide you an accurate measurement and is mostly accurate. Fingers with bigger knuckle than proximal may require you to have larger sized rings.

OR - You can check your ring size by measuring the inner diameter of your existing ring. This is the least accurate way to measure your ring size as the curves and bezels in your ring may affect how the ring enters your finger and the thickness of the band also varies from ring to ring.

Measure your ring using a ruler. Only check the inner Diameter and correspond with the size chart below.

Converting Your Measurement to a Ring Size: Now that you’ve measured your finger’s circumference (or diameter), it’s time to match it to an actual ring size—and that’s where our handy Ring Size Chart comes in.

Simply find your measurement on the chart below to see the corresponding size, specially tailored to fit our 18k gold-plated rings. Keep in mind, while this method is highly reliable, at-home measurements aren’t always 100% precise. Small discrepancies can happen due to knuckle size, temperature, or even the time of day.

If you’re between sizes or unsure, we recommend sizing up slightly for a more comfortable fit—especially with our bold, beautifully designed rings that are meant to slide on smoothly and stay securely in place.

Why Your Ring Size Isn’t Always the Same

Here’s something most people don’t realize—your ring size can subtly change throughout the day, week, or even the year. Sounds strange? It’s actually totally normal.

  • Seasonal Changes: Fingers tend to be slimmer in the cold and slightly swollen in the heat. So if you're measuring in peak summer or chilly winter, that can affect the result.

  • Time of Day: Your fingers are usually smallest in the morning and can swell slightly as the day goes on. It’s best to measure in the late afternoon or evening for a more accurate fit.

  • Hydration & Salt Intake: Eating salty food (hello, momo!) or being dehydrated can temporarily puff up your fingers. Try not to measure right after a big, salty meal or a workout.

  • Dominant Hand Difference: Your dominant hand is often a bit larger—if you’re planning to wear your ring on a specific hand, be sure to measure that one.

  • Knuckle vs. Base: Some people have larger knuckles and slimmer fingers, or vice versa. In that case, pick a size that comfortably slides over the knuckle but doesn’t spin around once it’s on.

Pro tip: Measure more than once, on different days and at different times, to find the most consistent size. Your fingers change more than you think!
